Everyone loves sweet gestures—little things that remind someone that you love them, that you think of them, that you care for their general, and other things. A gesture could be made towards a friend, a family member, or some other loved one. Maybe towards a total stranger you think deserves something to make them smile.

1. LOVE NOTES ♥ Everyone loves love notes, and they don’t even have to be romantic. It could be simple as ‘have a good day at work’ or even something funny to brighten someone’s day.

2. BREAKFAST IN BED ♥ Especially on a Sunday morning or after a long, late shift at work, breakfast in bed with their favorite foods is surely the way to start the day off right.

3. PHONE CALL ♥ Who doesn’t like a phone call from someone they love, for no reason? A nice conversation can be all someone needs to have a better day or make a good day be a great one.

4. SWEET TREAT ♥ Late at night when you’re both tired from work or just general day-to-day things, something sweet from the local bakery can be just the thing you need.

5. MASSAGE ♥ While a wonderful idea, swapping massages can be a good idea too, or doing it after a nice bubble bath you made for them, or just randomly.

6. RANDOM HUG ♥ Even if they are not having a bad day, how could a hug not bring a smile to someone’s face?

7. SMALL GIFT ♥ It could be a piece of jewelry that caught your eye and reminded you of them, a stuffed animal you won at the carnival… just something small and sweet that you are sure they are going to love no matter how cheap or expensive it is.

8. FLOWERS ♥ From a florist or from a random patch of green, the surprise of flowers for someone you know and/or love is always welcomed! Look into their meanings to make the bouquet, big or small, become extra special.

9. RENT A MOVIE ♥ Sure, you might not like the genre of the movie, but if the other person does, then that is all that matters.

10. SLOW DANCE ♥ Middle of the living room, randomly while on a date, or maybe that is the whole purpose of the date. Slow dances are so underrated.

11. SURPRISE GETAWAY ♥ Yes, that is just what you guys need: a vacation from things, even if it’s just for a day or two and is not half way across the world. From a family vacation to a romantic spur of the moment, everyone loves going to a new place.

12. SURPRISE KISS ♥ Who doesn’t like a surprise kiss? A soft one on the cheek, a kiss being the thing to wake you up in the morning, or a big one right when you walk through the door.

13. HOLD HANDS ♥ There is nothing like holding hands. It’s a simple and intimate gesture, and if you do it the right way, it could have a whole different meaning.

14. COOK DINNER ♥ Come on, give it a go. Who cares if you’re not the best cook in the world or possibly the worst? It’s the thought that counts.

[She peeked up at him from behind the flowers and looked down at the small bouquet in her hands, then back to him. She moved her hands a bit in a way to show off the flowers.]

[Yui nervously made her way to her kitchen to turn on her electric kettle and pull down some drinkware for the tea.]

I-I'm fine! How are you doing?

[She wasn't quite sure why she was so worried right now. Yui took a deep breath to calm her nerves as she pulled down her serving tray. It was just Ikki?]

[Yui changed quickly, greeting Mine who arrived as she was finishing up. She said her farewells to the staff members in the back before making her way back into the cafe so her friend wouldn't have to wait much longer.]

[She smiled down at Akira, suddenly a bit nervous to begin the trek home.]

[Tifa laughed a bit at his tone, getting to work on wiping the grime and food and drink off the tables and chairs.]

Sometimes you just need any excuse to celebrate. Being happy is contagious, I think. It was a bit stressful, but it really was fun to see so many people having a good time.

[Tifa was grinning when he started to eat more. She rocked on her feet, clasping her hands behind her back, clearly proud of herself for making something Roxas approved of. She was almost glowing with how happy that made her.]

I was trying to come up with something to sell at the bar as a new dessert. Crepes are pretty easy to make and I can make a ton at once, so I thought it might be a good idea.

[She squeezed Aerith's hand just a bit, a grin on her face as she looked over at Aerith.]

It's pretty late so I was thinking we could get something delivered and rest up.

[She gestured at the table and chairs on the patio.]

How often do we get to eat by the ocean, right?

[Plus the fireworks were going to start soon, but that was going to be a surprise that she wanted to enjoy with Aerith while they lounged on the hammock. Tifa gently rocked them, excited for the fireworks to start.]

[She nodded at Aerith as she went to put away the things in her arms before she returned and set to work on making Aerith a drink. She showed off a bit, just some fun bartending tricks she's learned that she can afford to do while it was slow, and then gently placed the dark pink drink in front her friend.]

[Seeing the spread, Tsubaki was shocked enough that she just slowly made her way towards the sweets. It was truly incredible. She didn't usually get anything on Valentine's day and she really only ever prepared a couple of friendship chocolates for some of her classmates and something special since it was Jin's birthday.

But this? This was incredible. Before she knew it, Tsubaki was beaming down at the cupcakes, looking around for her roommate.]

[Aerith looks over at the table and chairs when Tifa points them out and then back at Tifa.]

I think that's a great idea.

[Aerith leans over and rests her head on Tifa's shoulder.]

[Aerith watches Tifa, enraptured, and claps her hands together when she finishes the drink.]

[Aerith exits her bedroom wearing what looks like it must be a date outfit. Her hair is down in elaborate curls and decorated with small floral hair jewelry that matches the necklace she has on over a short, deep red wrap dress. She has on a subtle but flattering make-up look with a redder lip than usual. It is Valentine's Day after all.

She's a little preoccupied putting in an earring in so she doesn't notice Tsubaki immediately. When she looks up she sees her roomie standing near the table with the cupcakes and smiles widely.]

Oh, you found them!

As always, I have excellent timing.

[No you don't, Eds. This is a fluke and you know it.]

[He carries the food inside, taking a moment to take off his shoes, stepping the heel of one with his other foot. Normally he's less careful about doing that, because his apartment is basically a blood trafficking den with a kitchen and everyone tracks dirt through it, but he tries to be polite for Ryou.]

[Her hands are smaller than his, and he's focusing on that more than he usually does. It's easier to do that than to think about kissing her. He looks down at her then glances away.]

Are you sure?

[He's stalling, pretty obviously. He knows the answer, that's also obvious. He just maybe also wants more explicit allowance, something to ease any doubt and wow he's making such a big deal out of this.]

[He checks his phone for notifications, swipes away a few and then pockets his phone again.]

[Perks to doing delivery full-time, as long as he makes up the hours at like 3am in the college area he can make time to go to a bakery with his girlfriend.]

[Cloud lingers at his table, all the dishes put away in his bucket.]

After tonight's crowd, contagious sounds right.

[His tone is more straightforward and isn't as snippy as he usually would be; even Cloud noticed that the energy was a different kind of excitement than, say, a sports game, and has to admit it was more tolerable in a nice way. There was something refreshing in the lack of roaring about teams and scores that Cloud could appreciate in retrospect.]

[Ikki raises his brow at Yui's behavior. This was...odd. What did she have to be nervous about?]

Oh, yeah, he got called in this morning. I told him to go, but I started to wish I didn't a while ago.

[He sniffles for emphasis on his misery without his bf, but he sits a seat away from Haruhi so that he's not sniffling all up next to her.]

[Well he's surprised now! He takes them with a confused look on his face, then smiles as he turns the flowers around to look at all of them.]

[Morgana beams up at Akira at the praise and his big smile. He feels so accomplished right now, like he did a really great job at something! Sometimes you're 13 and those little victories are harder to come by amongst your teen angst.]

Okay! I'll wait for you!

[He scurries past Akira and waits near the bed, trying his best to keep his feet flat on the ground so that he doesn't bounce more liquids out of their cups. ]

[Roxas nods idly as he finishes up the dish. He sets the plate on his lap, resisting the urge to run his finger through the leftover mess. Maybe if he were alone he would; it's worth of the clean plate club.]

I think it's a good idea.

[And he can't lie, he likes that she included him. He's been feeling weirdly invisible even though his friends have clearly been trying to reach out to him. The inescapable in-person interaction kind of helped.]

I'll taste test all your ideas if you have more of them.

[That might be the most pep to his voice in a while.]

[Ryou chuckles at the dance club comment. It amuses him how different their worlds are, and this little crossover is pretty funny. Then he returns the thoughtful hum, actually giving his chin a small stroke.]

Hm...we have a good rapport, but he's also very skeptical. He may not believe you, or at least at first.

[He sighs and drops his hand.]

Well, if he has a problem then that's fine. There are other shops.

[Which is true and he means it; he wouldn't call Cameron a friend but acceptance in friend circles is incredibly important to him.]

[He grins at her, both for the encouraging words and the little kiss.]

[He finally starts slicing up the bell pepper, finally at the part he feels better at.]

Yep, that's the next step! I'm just about done here...

[And, sure enough, he finishes up with that troublesome bell pepper and sets down the knife. He does a quick eye-level little fist pump at his victory.]

Aw yeah! Now let's get to work on that chicken!

[He closes the door behind Eddie and steps from the tile to the carpet. He observes his table full of books and notes and goes over to tidy all that up.]
