["Pining after your ex" can go right in the fucking trash. This sucks, it sucks so much. He's apologized for the shit he said and did to Kuroko, sure, but he thought he could put all those lingering emotions aside and be done with them for good. Apparently that's not the case.]

[Momoi told him to confess before he lets the conflict get the best of him. After much turmoil, he's decided to do it, but since he's having trouble dealing with the prospect of doing it in person he calls Kuroko. Without waiting for him to say a greeting, he barrels into his lines.]

Hey, Tetsu. You got a minute?

[He's clearly trying to play it cool. He doesn't sound very convincing.]

[Kuroko can hear in the abrupt greeting that Aomine has something important he wants to talk about and he definitely feels the obligation to respond with the same seriousness.]

[Aomine really should have planned out what he wanted to say, because now that Kuroko is on the other line he's running dry on words. There's so much to say, so much ask, and he doesn't know where to begin. The pause between Kuroko speaking and Aomine finally finding something to say is pointedly long.]

[How could Kuroko forget, honestly. Aomine was both the closest to him and then the shittiest to him.]
