[Murasakibara really thought the feelings for Kuroko had died off, so he feels it's not fair when they come flaring back in their senior year of high school. He's still in Akita and Kuroko's all the way in Tokyo, so it's not like he can go see him whenever, so what gives? Spending their summers and seasonal breaks together doesn't seem like enough to make that happen but like, what's a guy supposed to do?]

[Well. Get ahead of anyone else who might want to ask Kuroko out. There's plenty of old and new teammates, and Murasakibara makes his phone call with a very, very clear purpose.]

Hey, Kurochin. You wanna go out?

[Kuroko isn't expecting a phone call from Murasakibara at this hour but it's always welcome. He enjoys hearing from his friend, especially since they live so far apart. Kuroko can't help but wonder if they lived closer together things between them might not be different. He picks up the phone and hears Murasakibara ask him to go out.]

Where did you have in mind?

[Oh goddammit. He groans into the phone.]

Jeez, not like that. I meant... [He sighs all big-like. Maybe this wasn't meant to be. It's already a lot of trouble and he's not a fan of things being any amount of trouble.] Forget it.

[Another big sigh and a low, grumbling, thoughtful hum. Is this really worth it? Maybe. It might eat him up if he doesn't, plus that earlier concern that someone else will beat him to the punch.]
