Everyone loves sweet gestures—little things that remind someone that you love them, that you think of them, that you care for their general, and other things. A gesture could be made towards a friend, a family member, or some other loved one. Maybe towards a total stranger you think deserves something to make them smile.

1. LOVE NOTES ♥ Everyone loves love notes, and they don’t even have to be romantic. It could be simple as ‘have a good day at work’ or even something funny to brighten someone’s day.

2. BREAKFAST IN BED ♥ Especially on a Sunday morning or after a long, late shift at work, breakfast in bed with their favorite foods is surely the way to start the day off right.

3. PHONE CALL ♥ Who doesn’t like a phone call from someone they love, for no reason? A nice conversation can be all someone needs to have a better day or make a good day be a great one.

4. SWEET TREAT ♥ Late at night when you’re both tired from work or just general day-to-day things, something sweet from the local bakery can be just the thing you need.

8. FLOWERS ♥ From a florist or from a random patch of green, the surprise of flowers for someone you know and/or love is always welcomed! Look into their meanings to make the bouquet, big or small, become extra special.

9. RENT A MOVIE ♥ Sure, you might not like the genre of the movie, but if the other person does, then that is all that matters.

10. SLOW DANCE ♥ Middle of the living room, randomly while on a date, or maybe that is the whole purpose of the date. Slow dances are so underrated.

11. SURPRISE GETAWAY ♥ Yes, that is just what you guys need: a vacation from things, even if it’s just for a day or two and is not half way across the world. From a family vacation to a romantic spur of the moment, everyone loves going to a new place.

12. SURPRISE KISS ♥ Who doesn’t like a surprise kiss? A soft one on the cheek, a kiss being the thing to wake you up in the morning, or a big one right when you walk through the door.

13. HOLD HANDS ♥ There is nothing like holding hands. It’s a simple and intimate gesture, and if you do it the right way, it could have a whole different meaning.

14. COOK DINNER ♥ Come on, give it a go. Who cares if you’re not the best cook in the world or possibly the worst? It’s the thought that counts.

[Aerith and Zack decide that a fun date would be cooking together! Aerith has already gone out and purchased all the groceries while her boyfriend was busy at work so she's all ready to go when he walks in the door. Well, almost ready anyway. She still has to get stuff out of bags.]

Can you give me a hand with these?

[Zack's pretty excited about this date idea, it'll be fun to do something together that they usually do separately]

Yeah, of course!

[he immediately gets to work on putting stuff away, making some little comments here and there on what they're making with what ingredient and how he's not sure if he's like...ever chopped garlic before actually]

So are you excited for tonight?

[She smiles sweetly up at him from the sink where she's washing her hands to prep for cooking.]

I'm always excited to spend time with you.

[She goes to turn on the oven (because I've decided that they need that) and then pulls out a cutting board and a kitchen knife. Aerith hums at it.]

Zaack...do you want to cut the vegetables....? I'm a little nervous around knives...

[Aerith's not lying but she is exaggerating so that Zack will do it for her.]

[He gives her a big cheek smooch for that one.]

Yeah, same to you.

[Ah, a chance to do something extra nice and also impress his girlfriend? Yes. Of course. Also he's confident around knives for whatever reason.]

Sure, I'll cut them right up! How many are there?

[She leans into the smooch and smiles wider when he jumps to offer help. It's nice how he always jumps to help out, she never even has to be pushy!]

Mm...

[Aerith pulls out the veggies.]

This many?

[He whistles because it's quite a few because I've decided they're making chicken stir fry. He especially stares at the bell pepper and picks it up.]

Huh...

[How...does he cut this?]

I don't think I've even eaten one of these before.

[Aerith giggles.]

It's a bell pepper, they're good! You can cut it normally.

[She goes to bustle around the kitchen a bit more to gather a couple bowls and seasonings.]

[Zack turns the bell pepper in his hand, observing it.]

Normal, huh? What's...normal?

[He shakes his head and puts it down. Carrots, yeah. Broccoli, got it. Onion, oh boy. Bean sprouts, no cutting required! And that was all they got. He cracks his knuckles and gets out the cutting board.]

Alright! Vegetable time!

[He probably needs a bowl for the chopped veggies, huh?]

[Luckily your girl has a bowl just for you Zack Fair! She hands him a bowl to hold all the veggies.]

Here you go! I'm sure you'll do just fine.

[She goes back to the recipe and hums while she reads it.]

It looks like we need to make a sauce...I'll work on that!

[At least someone has faith in this vegetable endeavor. He has the confidence, sure, but man...]

Yeah, thanks.

[He watches her read the recipe and leans over to just be a little nosy.]

Woah, never made a sauce before. Looks like fun!

[He put the knife down already, it's fine.]

[Aerith looks back towards him and smiles.]

Me either, but it doesn't look very hard.

[Time to put some ingredients in a bowl and start stirring them together.]

How are the vegetables going? I think we need to cut the chicken too...

[He starts with the vegetables that make sense, which is everything except the pepper, so when he does get to the pepper he's stuck staring at it.]

Veg's are going great! Just gotta, uh...

[Well. Time to jut lop off the top of the bell pepper and see what happens, and what happens is A Mess. Seeds lightly explode from the pepper and onto the cutting board and it's not that big of a deal but Zack wasn't expecting it.]

UH...well, gotta figure this out! I'll get to the chicken after.

[Now he's like...going in and carving out the core from the pepper and trying to clean the seeds from everywhere and it's a whole thing.]

[Aerith looks up from her sauce and sees Zack and his mess.]

Oh, Zack--

[She puts down the bowl with the completed sauce and grabs another smaller bowl to scoop seeds into while he's being a little frantic. Aerith giggles a little at him.]

It's okay, let me help!

[me_gongaga]

[As Aerith approaches he immediately puts down the knife. He chuckles, embarrassed, and starts shifting the seeds closest to him over into Aerith's bowl. He gives the bell pepper a good few thumps upside down to dislodge any extra seeds.]

Thanks. I was a little in over my head.

[Bell peppers are messy when you don't know what you're doing!]

[He gets his knife back and with the dull edge starts scraping the seeds over the bowl instead of using his hand. Much better.]

[Once the bowl is full she takes it and puts the seeds into the trash. She puts down the empty bowl on the counter and turns towards Zack.]

Don't worry, we can do this together.

[Aerith leans over and gives him a quick kiss on the shoulder, it's right at face level, before she turns back to the recipe.]

Looks like we should get out the chicken next if you're done with the veggies!

[He grins at her, both for the encouraging words and the little kiss.]

Yeah we can!

[He finally starts slicing up the bell pepper, finally at the part he feels better at.]

Yep, that's the next step! I'm just about done here...

[And, sure enough, he finishes up with that troublesome bell pepper and sets down the knife. He does a quick eye-level little fist pump at his victory.]

Aw yeah! Now let's get to work on that chicken!

[Aerith giggles at her very enthusiastic boyfriend. What a dork. He's so cute. She claps at him.]

Good job!

[She pulls the chicken out of the fridge because it was there I guess and then trades for the veggies.]

All yours, Zack.

[me_gongaga]

[The chicken is much easier. He slices open the package, slaps the chicken onto the cutting board, and cuts it up into stir fry sized pieces. No problem!]

There we go! All ready!

[He sets down the knife and goes over to the sink to wash the chicken off his hand, having made sure to not touch the raw chicken with the other.]

So what's next? I think we've cut everything up.

[Aerith hums and checks the recipe.]

It seems like...we need to start cooking now.

[She puts down the recipe and grabs some oil for the pan.]

Do you want to use the pan or do you want me to?

[Zack grabs the pan and sets it down on the stove if it wasn't there already.]

Let's see you try it first, and if you need help I can step in.

[Aerith smiles up at Zack.]

Okay, I've got this!

[She poses with her arm up and fist clenched for emphasis. With a grin she turns back towards the stove to start to Do The Cooking.

It's going okay, she cooks at home with her mom plenty, but she's not a chef or anything. It's a little slow and a little sloppy compared to what a professional could do but she's making it work.]
