Everyone loves sweet gestures—little things that remind someone that you love them, that you think of them, that you care for their general, and other things. A gesture could be made towards a friend, a family member, or some other loved one. Maybe towards a total stranger you think deserves something to make them smile.

1. LOVE NOTES ♥ Everyone loves love notes, and they don’t even have to be romantic. It could be simple as ‘have a good day at work’ or even something funny to brighten someone’s day.

2. BREAKFAST IN BED ♥ Especially on a Sunday morning or after a long, late shift at work, breakfast in bed with their favorite foods is surely the way to start the day off right.

3. PHONE CALL ♥ Who doesn’t like a phone call from someone they love, for no reason? A nice conversation can be all someone needs to have a better day or make a good day be a great one.

4. SWEET TREAT ♥ Late at night when you’re both tired from work or just general day-to-day things, something sweet from the local bakery can be just the thing you need.

5. MASSAGE ♥ While a wonderful idea, swapping massages can be a good idea too, or doing it after a nice bubble bath you made for them, or just randomly.

6. RANDOM HUG ♥ Even if they are not having a bad day, how could a hug not bring a smile to someone’s face?

7. SMALL GIFT ♥ It could be a piece of jewelry that caught your eye and reminded you of them, a stuffed animal you won at the carnival… just something small and sweet that you are sure they are going to love no matter how cheap or expensive it is.

8. FLOWERS ♥ From a florist or from a random patch of green, the surprise of flowers for someone you know and/or love is always welcomed! Look into their meanings to make the bouquet, big or small, become extra special.

9. RENT A MOVIE ♥ Sure, you might not like the genre of the movie, but if the other person does, then that is all that matters.

10. SLOW DANCE ♥ Middle of the living room, randomly while on a date, or maybe that is the whole purpose of the date. Slow dances are so underrated.

11. SURPRISE GETAWAY ♥ Yes, that is just what you guys need: a vacation from things, even if it’s just for a day or two and is not half way across the world. From a family vacation to a romantic spur of the moment, everyone loves going to a new place.

12. SURPRISE KISS ♥ Who doesn’t like a surprise kiss? A soft one on the cheek, a kiss being the thing to wake you up in the morning, or a big one right when you walk through the door.

13. HOLD HANDS ♥ There is nothing like holding hands. It’s a simple and intimate gesture, and if you do it the right way, it could have a whole different meaning.

14. COOK DINNER ♥ Come on, give it a go. Who cares if you’re not the best cook in the world or possibly the worst? It’s the thought that counts.

[Sayu looks at the labels on the aisles and hums to herself. Maybe she should really actually try to find something he would like. He's being pretty nice...

She grabs him by the hand and walks him over to the action movies. Surely there will be something with cool explosions that he would find fun! Maybe one with some steamy romantic tension, too.]

I highly doubt that.

[All the covers look so over-the-top or boring, he doesn't know what to make of them. What makes a movie look interesting? What's supposed to even draw you in? He has no clue. He has no frame of reference for what emotion a box art should evoke. Some of the titles stick out as interesting, but it's the same problem.]

[He just follows Sayu around.]

[Seems like he's going to be no help. How has he, like, never even seen A Movie?? What a weird guy! She keeps looking at covers. This isn't really her genre so she doesn't recognize most of these movie titles.]

Hmph, this might be a little harder than I thought.

[She shifts her weight from one foot to the other and then pulls out her cellphone. Time to check yoogle. She's typing in "best action movie" and reading off of the list of results. Incidentally, rotten tomatoes says Black Panther? Which other places agree with? Okay. WELL. She goes to find Black Panther then I guess!]

[Mello correctly deduces that this isn't her genre by how she takes out her phone and then suddenly knows where to go. He follows along. This means she was trying to find something for him, thinking something in the Action section would be interesting to him, huh? He sort of appreciates that.]

What'd you find?

[He could just wait to get there but he's curious about what Yoogle had to say. He wonders how many review sites she consulted on this.]

[She picks up Black Panther and turns the case towards him.]

This? It's a superhero movie, I guess?

[Sayu pulls out her phone again, no point in acting like she's not totally guessing, and shows him the multiple websites that listed it as number 1.]

It seems super popular so it must be good!

[Logical thought process, in her opinion. I mean she's not totally wrong. She looks at the back cover of the movie and looks up at him with a shrug.]

[He takes it from her, reads the back cover very quickly, and flips it back around. Seems like it's part of a larger story, but if it's recommended as a standalone then it's probably fine. He's never been into superheroes, or even touched the genre; it was never his thing.]

Popularity doesn't always mean that it's good.

[But also what does he know about movies? Nothing. He waves the box around a bit and gestures towards the front.]

Let's try it out, see if the reviews are right.

[She frowns a little at his first comment but he doesn't seem to be being rude about it so she perks right back up when he gestures towards the front of the store. She bounces on her heels.]

[Sayu takes his unoccupied hand and starts walking towards the front.]

[Mello takes a bit to hold her hand back because he's a butt and he's getting used to this whole PDA thing still. He considers just insisting they leave right now but like...]

If they have chocolate here, sure. Otherwise we have plenty of snacks at my place.

[Mello looks around, pretty dead serious and discerning for someone at the snack section of av video rental store. He finds what he'll settle on--plain chocolate bars that are the slightly fancier versions of the ones next to them (Symphony versus regular Hershey's)--and gestures for Sayu to take the movie from his hand.]

Here, I can't grab them if I'm holding this.

[Meaning he's not letting go of her hand. He also ended up partially talking over her, so he takes a moment to process what she said. He sighs, but decides he'll play along this time. He speaks in about the same volume.]

[She laughs, Sayu knows she was being extremely corny, but it's very fun when Mello plays along. She takes the movie from his hand and gives his hand a little affectionate swing.]

[He nods and grabs like three of these chocolate bars with one hand with full intent on these being a one-movie snack, then leads them up towards the counter.]

[Sayu eyes Mello's chocolate bars. Does he eat literally any other snack? She doesn't think she's ever seen him eat anything that doesn't have chocolate on it now that she's thinking about it. That seems kind of unhealthy. She's not going to bug him about it though, she's not his mom.

She pouts at him playfully when he asks for his hand back and releases it.]

[She is very forward but still has the sense to not be so open in front of a stranger. At least sober anyway.]

[He scoffs, though admittedly playfully, at her flirting.]

I know how you are.

[And so he pops open the compartment of his bike for helmets and replaces them for the bag with the movie but keeps the chocolate outside. It'll melt instantly side of there. He plans on keeping it in its separate bag up front in Sayu's hands.]

[She giggles at his response. Mello's very fun to flirt with. Sayu takes her helmet from him while he's getting everything settled and puts it on. She holds out her hands for the bag of chocolate.]
