[Lucy giggles then groans in agreement.]

I know, right? I love writing and all but this workload is really getting to me!

[She wiggles into the booth, holding down the back of her skirt so it doesn't ride up as she does. She looks down at the menu, just the cover art and says with a wibbly voice,]

I'm so glad I don't have to pay for Natsu.

Aw he can't be that bad can he?

[She truly has no idea. Time to look at the menu. Pancakes look good for fueling up!]

[Lucy puts her face in her hands and whines into them.]

He's so bad, I don't know how he eats so much!

[But she sits back up flips the menu open a little aggressively, and stares hard at the items.]

But tonight's about us! Let's get some food!

[Sayu laughs again and nods excitedly.]

Yes, and it's going to be amazing!

[She spots the chocolate chip pancakes and sends Mello a picture of them, 'bet ur jealous'. Sayu looks up from the menu.]

Do you know what you're going to get?

[Lucy hums as she flips around the menu. She's half considering some of those "lite and fit" options but also like...screw that? She's always torn on eating healthier and eating whatever she wants, usually leaning towards the latter.]

Okay I think I'd usually go for one of these pancake combos, but I don't want to get sick from dancing on a really full stomach so...

[So maybe one of the "lite and fit" things it is? Or just a smaller meal. That sounds better.]

I think pancakes and ham! And...maybe hashbrowns.

[Sayu nods while she listens.]

That makes sense! I wasn't thinking about getting sick...

[She makes a face like she's thinking it over and then shrugs.]

I'm still getting chocolate chip pancakes. It'll probably be fine!

[Lucy just recalls all the times she's gone to the gym or done various physical activities with her friends on a full stomach and regretted it, so though dancing might not be as intense as obstacle courses she has her concerns.]

Yeah, I'm sure that'll be fine! That does sound good, too...no, I'll stick to what I have!

[The waitress comes by and Lucy places her order, tacking on apple juice because why not.]

[Sayu adds on some kind of soda to her order ~~because I feel like she's that kind of girl~~. When the waitress leaves she turns back to Lucy.]

You can have one of my pancakes if you want! I don't mind sharing.

[Lucy could cry a single tear from her friend's generosity in her time of pancake need.]

You don't? I guess I could...just one shouldn't hurt...

[She's firmly decided one absolutely will not hurt.]

Maaan, I haven't had a chocolate chip pancake in so long...I always talk myself out of them.

[Sayu smiles widely at Lucy's enthusiasm.]

Well we're treating ourselves tonight! Girl's night tradition style, with pancakes!

[She takes and digs into her pancake with zeal. She makes a sound that's a mix between a sigh and a moan and she kicks her legs a little.]

[Hello ma'am got your delivery right here, it's a friend with breakfast take out from (fantasy?) Denny's. Egg is at Lucy's apartment and knocking on the door like a polite person who is not a menace ~~looking at you, Natsu~~.]

[Lucy's so unfamiliar with the concept of someone knocking on her door that she jumps and scares Plue. She forgot that she invited Egg over and that Egg wasn't like her partners who would just barge right in without a moment's warning.]

C-coming!

[She puts Plue back on his feet and rushes to the door, opening it with a big smile at both her friend and the presence of food.]

Egg! Welcome to my apartment! Thanks for knocking.

[Egg grins at her.]

Hey! Well, come on, I'm not going to barge into your apartment.

[Like Natsu, or Erza...or Gray...Egg holds up the bag with food in it.]

I brought brunch! Can I come in?

[Lucy laughs nervously.]

Yeah well...you're a rarity.

[She hops out of the doorway and presents her home to Egg. Plue stands on his little hindlegs and, shaking as always, splays his arms out to also welcome Egg.]

Of course! Come right on in to the Heartfilia household!

[Egg shrugs at her comment and follows Lucy into her apartment.]

Thanks! Oh, hey Plue!

[She waves at the most bizarre dog in the world and then looks back up at Lucy.]

...He doesn't eat or anything does he? I only brought enough food for us.

[Plue responds by waving and making his weird little like...affirmative sound that's almost a whine but not quite. He shakes his head at her question, as does Lucy.]

No, he doesn't. Well, he eats here sometimes, but he doesn't need to since he eats in the Celestial World.

[Lucy starts to clear off her little table in the middle of her floor that's not covered in stuff necessarily but is a tiny bit cluttered in papers and pens and, of course, Plue himself. Plue's the last to go and she puts him on her bed.]

There we go! All ready for food!

[Egg breathes a sigh of relief.]

Oh good!

[Time to go set out the food...As she puts it out she looks back at Lucy.]

I got us a little bit of everything, kind of like a buffet! They didn't give us any utensils or anything though...

[Lucy is delighted by the concept of an in-home buffet. She can't help but beam at Egg.]

That's okay! I'll go get some.

[And she does, returning with forks and knives and napkins for the both of them.]

I wasn't sure if we'd need spoons, but I kind of figured not.

[Lucy puts a modest amount of food on her plate to start. She offers Plue a strip of bacon which he sniffs at, takes, and starts nibbling at.]

Oh! That...well...

[She sits on her knees and slumps.]

You know just the...usual property damage...luckily it didn't take all of our reward this time but I'm gonna have to get another job or two before the month is up to make up for it.

[Egg can't help but laugh at that. Poor Lucy...]

Oh no! You guys really can't help yourselves, huh?

[Time to dig into some eggs.]
