[Sometimes you go on a date to a Denny's because your boyfriend is kind of obsessed with cheap breakfast food. It's fine, she can get pancakes or a cheap crepe or something. She reaches across the table to hold Zack's hand.]

Going great! Been getting a lot of jobs lately, especially ones that pay well. Better than the time when all I could find were dog walking gigs.

Little dogs are pretty cute...but some big dogs are cute too...

[Zack maybe blushes a little, just maybe. He didn't really think of it in parental terms before but, well, it has a nice ring to it.]

[He chuckles and squeezes Aerith's hand right back.]

[Aerith's turn to blush a tiny bit. It's nice to talk about coparenting even if it's just for an animal. It's so...domestic, and comfortable.]

Aw, I hope so! I've never had a dog before. Have you?

[Zack nods and cuts away a chunk of his hashbrowns in preparation to eat them.]

Yeah, when I was a kid we had a dog. Died of old age, lived a good life. I may have snuck him more table scraps than recommended, but I'm sure that's just how he liked it.

Aw, you're too sweet. It does sound like he had a great life. I hope we can give our dog a good, long life, too.
