It's time for a picnic! Are you on a date or just hanging out with a friend? What kind of food did you bring--homemade, store-bought, or take-out? The nice thing about picnics is you can have them just about anywhere, like the park or your front lawn or that little grassy patch by your apartment building. You don't even have to sit on the ground, honestly, that's what picnic tables are for! Hopefully it's a nice sunny day and you don't get rained out, but maybe you brought an umbrella just in case.

[All reservations of spending this kind of alone time with Haruhi aside, he isn't about to let all this money, effort, and food go to waste. And, more importantly, he wasn't up to calling their other friends to join in; if there are any leftovers he's sure Haruhi won't mind taking them home to share with Ranka.]

[He finishes unpacking the orange juice and two of the three glass cups from the basket Tamaki insisted on them bringing as many things would fit inside of one and sets one on each side of the picnic table. The food is all catered from Kyouya's private staff, enough for three people, and is already spread out on the table. It's a much better selection than the non-canonical Denny's trip.]

[Kyouya sits down and pours the juice between their cups.]

[Haruhi spends the whole time Kyouya is unpacking the cups from the basket looking at the spread. Everything looks amazing. This is going to be such a treat. She looks completely delighted.]

Yes, thanks for the food.

[Time to grab a little bit of everything. No point in trying to act like she isn't excited about this, she's known Kyouya for a minute now.

It is a little unusual to be spending an extended period of time with just Kyouya, but it's also kind of nice. At least, it's definitely relaxing compared to being with everyone else. She's still not sure why Tamaki wanted it to be just the three of them in the first place but oh well.]

[Kyouya also fills his plate with food, less impressed than Haruhi is. For him this is normal, so he's just very casual about the whole thing despite eating outside in a park area. Their table is in a more secluded area on a very slight hill, but it's enough to look down a bit on the rest of the park. Kyouya's electing not to look too much.]

It's fortunate Tamaki delegated the food responsibilities to me in this case.

[Otherwise their time would have been wasted on getting there and then just leaving, obviously. At least this is, honestly, a pleasant use of a Sunday mid-morning.]

[Haruhi, on the other hand, does take a look at the scenery while she eats some food. It's a nice view and a nice day. She makes an appreciative humming noise after a particularly delicious bite and then returns her gaze to Kyouya.]

What was he supposed to bring anyway? He wasn't exactly clear about his plans.
