» 1. costumes - costumes!!! the best part! there's probably a contest, maybe with cash prizes if the host is generous enough, or maybe just bragging rights until next year. » 2. party games - there's bobbing for apples, pin the face piece on the pumpkin (if that's a thing), group card games...plenty of options out there! » 3. selfie corner - it's a fold-up table with all kinds of props and a selfie stick on it, have fun! » 4. dance floor - either a dj is controlling the music or someone's spotify playlist. either way, it's time to get dancing and show off your moves! » 5. buffet - pizza? potluck? desserts??? spiked punch??? who knows what the spread's like! » 6. bar - might be a paid-for open bar or just an assortment of beers and wine coolers. » 7. quiet rooms - need a break? the guest bedroom is free to chill out in. or the bathroom if that's your thing. » 8. the host's pets - know who's better than people? the dog and/or the cat. » 9. going home - party's over, are you helping with clean up or are you dragging yourself home?

[Today is technically a Murasakibara date night but it's also Halloween and the whole polycule has been invited to a party. It just seems fair to Kuroko that he should dress up in a couple's costume with Murasakibara. He's in a giant yan yan container and Murasakibara is dressed as a chocolate-dipped stick. Kuroko thinks it's pretty funny, especially when a couple of their boyfriends expressed displeasure at their silly outfits. Kuroko also has some actual yan yans in a bag with him in case Murasakibara gets grumpy.

He looks up at Murasakibara.]

Are you having fun?

[This is...pretty stupid. Like, listen, on one hand he appreciates the catering to his interests--who doesn't like yan yans?--but on the other this is just dumb. He feels ridiculous in this costume that's too short for him and goes to his knees when it's definitely supposed to reach his ankles or something. He typically likes his date nights with Kuroko because they're chill. This isn't what he categorizes as "chill".]

[However. Murasakibara can't lie that he gets joy out of Kise and Aomine being completely unable to contain their jealousy. That right there is hilarious and makes this whole thing worth it.]

[He finishes eating his current snack and tosses the wrapper in a nearby trash can. Any grumpiness he gets is both soothed by snacks and something like spite towards those two.]

Something like that, sure. Where'd you get these costumes anyway, Kuro-chin?

[Kuroko glances at Mursakibara. He doesn't seem to be lying, though he's not exactly enthusiastic either. Oh well.

He can see Kise and Aomine a few feet away looking jealous and gives them both a look before returning his attention to Murasakibara. He looks down at the costume then up at his boyfriend.]

The internet has a lot of unique costumes, do you like it?

[Kuroko holds up his bag with extra snacks, offering another one to Murasakibara. He did spend some time looking up appropriate costumes for the two of them since he was pretty sure Murasakibara wouldn't be invested in that kind of thing.]

[Murasakibara peeks way down into the bag, pokes around in it before plucking out one. He hums and nods as he unwraps the snack stick.]

Yeah. I think out of all the ones I've seen this one's pretty cool.

[Well. "Cool" is one way to describe "I think dressing up as a snack is less stupid", but he's getting better at not being the most rude. He definitely thinks it's better than dressing up as like...other...couples stuff. He doesn't know. It's not something he pays close attention to.]

[He looks around the party; Kise and Aomine are doing their weird thing that now seems to involve making their way over to Kagami at the food table, and Akashi and Midorima are politely mingling/talking amongst themselves. With his height he can see everything. He glances down at Kuroko. He rarely sees his boyfriend's face, it's not like everyone leans their heads back all the way to look up at him and he can't be assed to look down at them like that, too. Hm.]

Hey, Kuro-chin, what do we do here? Parties aren't really my thing.

[Kuroko's face softens into a pleased smile when Murasakibara says he thinks the costume is cool. Cool is probably an overstatement but if he likes it that's enough. It's his date night, after all.

Kuroko takes a turn to look around the party.]

Well, besides the food table it looks like there's some people talking, some people dancing...there's a photo booth over there [He points towards a photo set up in the corner.] and some games.
