It's time for a picnic! Are you on a date or just hanging out with a friend? What kind of food did you bring--homemade, store-bought, or take-out? The nice thing about picnics is you can have them just about anywhere, like the park or your front lawn or that little grassy patch by your apartment building. You don't even have to sit on the ground, honestly, that's what picnic tables are for! Hopefully it's a nice sunny day and you don't get rained out, but maybe you brought an umbrella just in case.

[Sayu has a much less fancy meal, some bento she prepared the night before, and she's focusing a lot more on that than on her pile of study materials.]

You know, that totally doesn't surprise me at all.

[Twilight smiles, a little bashful, and sets her sandwich down in favor of spearing a cantaloupe chunk with her fork.]

I'm sure it doesn't...

[She's well aware how much of a creature of habit she is, and of how much she holes herself up in the library. Those two things equal up to her being a pretty big nerd who never goes outside. She's at least been trying to read outside separate from her studies! It's just...studying...]

I will say that it's nice to be able to eat lunch at the same time. I always have to leave the library to eat.

[Sayu is definitely just eating and enjoying the nice day even though she knows she's going to need some help with the work she brought with her. On the one hand, she doesn't really want to be studying. On the other hand, her last math test did not go great.]

You should come out here more often! The library is so...musty...

[Twilight mushes her fingers together a bit. She likes her musty library. It has its charms! She smiles a little with a small laugh.]

It's not...that musty.

[She smiles a little longer then clears her throat. She picks up her sandwich again.]

So, uh...tell me about your grades and test scores lately. Just so we're on the same page.

[Perfect time to eat: while Sayu's talking.]

[Sayu goes from smiling and laughing to looking uncomfortable immediately after Twilight starts asking about her grades.]

Uh--well...they could be...better....

[She frowns.]

I mean, I'm not failing or anything!

[Barely.]

[Twilight can't help but giggle at Sayu's defense.]

Well we can make sure it stays that way! I'll give you some studying tips and, oh, I think I have an extra planner in my bag! You can have it, I'll show you how to optimize the use of it, it's going to help you tremendously. And, hm, I wonder if I still have those documents from my presentation on study habits...that would be great if I could give you those, they're copies of the originals I made anyway so you could keep them for reference.

[She's gotten so lost in her rambling her sandwich is just sitting in her hands, close to her mouth, completely forgotten.]

[Sayu's face grows increasingly uncomfortable...it's not like she doesn't need the help. She does, but, ugh. Gross. Planners and study habits. She notices that Twilight has stopped eating and gently pushes the sandwich into her open mouth.]

Maybe we should take it a little slower.

[Twilight is definitely blushing when Sayu makes sure sandwich meets mouth. She takes a bite and hunches her shoulders up as she chews. How embarrassing...]

[When she finishes up that mouthful she's still blushing and she sets down her sandwich.]

Thank you, Sayu. I got carried away again.

[Despite the embarrassment she felt she still pulls up her bag and pulls out said planner.]

Here, we'll start with this. Time management! Let's find times where you can study in your schedule, and then go from there!

[A looooong sigh comes out of Sayu when Twilight makes her suggestion.]

i had so much written and then i accidentally closed out of the tab i'm full of woe

[So to sum of all of the text I lost, Twilight is ecstatic as she moves aside her food, stands up and leans over the table so she can flip around the planner for Sayu.]

So this is where we can write down all your non-academic plans first and then this is where we can write down what we can work around those blocks of time to fit in studying! I personally suggest allotting about two hours a day, but we can start off with one hour to ease you into the new habit.

[After flipping back and forth from the monthly and weekly sections, she puts it back to monthly and sits back down.]

So! Where shall we begin? Do you have a job or plans with friends you would like to write down?

[Says has the biggest pout on her face while she listens to all of this. She does think on it though, for just a moment.]

Um...well, I don't have a job, and I don't really plan activities with my friends. So.....I guess I don't have anything of the planner yet.

[Well that puts a dent in Twilight's plans to teach Sayu things. She ponders for a moment, then shyly offers a suggestion.]

Hmm...well, how about making plans with me? We can meet up for lunch again sometime and do a check-in!

[Her tone gains confidence the more she talks, but she's still shy about friendship with someone new.]
