It's time for a picnic! Are you on a date or just hanging out with a friend? What kind of food did you bring--homemade, store-bought, or take-out? The nice thing about picnics is you can have them just about anywhere, like the park or your front lawn or that little grassy patch by your apartment building. You don't even have to sit on the ground, honestly, that's what picnic tables are for! Hopefully it's a nice sunny day and you don't get rained out, but maybe you brought an umbrella just in case.

[Applejack's just chilling by herself and some apples, having gotten the date for her picnic with the girls wrong and realizing it too late. She considered just moseying on home but, y'know, it's such a nice day outside, why not enjoy some quiet time? So she's horse sitting by a tree, gazing out at the nature before her.]

hope she isn't afraid of snakes......

[Faust is curled around a tree branch and notices a horse below! Hello, a horse, want to be friends? She lowers her body next to Applejack, long body still attached to the branch.]

[Applejack may not be afraid of snakes, but anypony would jump and fall over with a yelp of surprise if a talking snake just descended next to them, right??? ...Right?]

[Anyhoof, Applejack pushes herself back up to her horse sit position, fixes her hat and observes the snake who's joined her on this fine day. Well...seems friendly enough. She's yet to meet an unfriendly snake, honestly, she's just never met one who could talk before!]

Uhh...howdy...there? Little feller?

[She smiles, but it's a bit strained.]

[Faust tilts her head at Applejack.]

{Howdy?}

[Small snake does not know your cowgirl speech patterns Applejack.]

[Applejack perks up. Oh, is she willing to explain her cowgirl speech pattern!]

That's right! "Howdy" is another way to say "hello"! It's a greetin' of sorts, everyone in my family says it.

[Faust bobs her head almost like she's nodding.]

{Howdy!}

[Applejack nods as well, she's very proud of this little snake.]

There y'go! Yer a natural!

[Then she puts her hoof to her chin in thought.]

Hm...don't think I've ever met a lil' critter like you who could talk. Only pony I've known to talk to animals is Fluttershy.

That's right, sugarcube! You got a good head on those, er...neck?

[Snakes don't have shoulders. They're kinda just tubes, huh? She tries to recover from her verbal stumble quickly.]

Do snakes eat apples? I got plenty of extra here to share!

[She noses around in her basket, she has one now I don't care about the possible continuity error, and pulls out a tupperware of apple slices.]

Good thing I packed up some slices. Here you go, try a bite.

[With pony hoof physics she pops open the container and scoots it over to Faust.]

[Oh, well, thank you miss horse lady. Faust will be unhinging her jaw to swallow that apple whole. Pleasant.]

[Oh well. That was sure a sight to see. She wants to comment that Faust is the strange one here, but she manages to bite her tongue about it. She chuckles in a "what the fuck did I just see" way.]

Well, I imagine a critter like you doesn't eat fruit much, do ya?
