She just has a dad who isn't always at home vs Asuka and Misato. They probably crossed paths extremely briefly before he left for work so Shinji maybe has a better sense of why Haruhi is so nonchalant about the whole gay thing.]

[Light is having one of the more average meal combos, like nothing too filling but filling enough for a young adult. He's used to L's eccentricates at this point but sometimes it still catches him off guard. All the sugar packets are gone and he's surprised the jams are intact. He can't imagine L's glucose levels are great, but he's long given up interrogating him about that.]

[He sighs and takes another bite of his mediocre eggs. He misses his mom's cooking. It wasn't great but it was better than this.]
